Our Show of the Week is… Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill!
Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill stars five-time Tony Award-Winner Audra McDonald as Billie Holiday in what Entertainment Weekly hails as “one of the most exquisite performances of the year.” Singing such songs as “God Bless the Child,” “What a Little Moonlight Can Do,” “Strange Fruit,” and “Taint Nobody’s Biz-ness,” McDonald, in a 2014 Tony-nominated performance, presents this intimate show which invites you to get up close and personal with a legendary songstress and her personal journey.
Why we love it: Audra. We don’t need any other reasons.

Our Show of the Week is…Cinderella!
Rodgers and Hammerstein’s take on the classic fairytale arrived on Broadway in 2013 and is still enchanting hearts of audiences of all ages. The shoes, the pumpkin and the fairy godmother all come to life in this magical musical, which features songs including “In My Own Little Corner,” “Ten Minutes Ago” and “Impossible.” The show currently stars singer Carly Rae Jepsen as Ella and tv star Fran Drescher as the Wicked Stepmother and is playing 8 shows a week at the Broadway Theater.
Why we love it: While we love our reigning princess Laura Osnes, Carly Rae jumps in like a seasoned pro. Plus, we hear that she does an encore of “Call Me, Maybe” with Ann Harada and Stephanie Gibson singing backup.

Learn about friends, neighbors, love and life in this new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Will Eno. Directed by Sam Gold and featuring an all-star cast of Toni Collette, Michael C. Hall, Tracy Letts and Marisa Tomei, The Realistic Joneses was hailed by the New York Times as “a tender, funny and terrific new play with the spring’s most enticing new cast,” now playing at the Lyceum Theater.
Why we love it: Realistic Joneses has everything! Amazing actors returning to the stage? Check. A dead squirrel? Check. A character named Pony? Check. Also, Marisa Tomei was Zachary “Schmackary’s” high school crush!

Broadway is all about dreaming big! Growing up in Lincoln, Nebraska, theatre was my passion and Broadway was my dream. In 2008, I moved to New York City to pursue that dream on a full-time basis. My life was filled with acting by day and making cookies at night to relieve stress and fuel my creativity. You see, my goal wasn’t to make good chocolate chip cookies – I wanted to try new things; experiment, create, and challenge myself to make something fresh and original. Soon, baking cookies became an obsession and with the encouragement and support of my friends and family, Schmackary’s was born. At first, I started by selling cookies from my Hell’s Kitchen apartment, and in a year our storefront at 45th & 9th opened in May 2012, with the goal of making incredible, interesting, and innovative gourmet cookies.
One year, thousands of smiles, and over $1 million in sales later, Schmackary’s has officially made it on Broadway! Thanks to my staff for caring, to Broadway for embracing us, and especially to all of our loyal customers for making our 1st year a huge success!
As Frank Sinatra says, “If you can make it here, you can make it anywhere.” Well stay tuned – because Schmackary’s has even bigger dreams for the future!
Watch out cupcakes, we’re coming to get you!
