Giving back is a big part of who we are. As a result, Schmackary’s supports numerous community events, charitable organizations, and non-profit companies in the New York City region. We focus on charities that support the arts and benefit the Broadway and theatrical community. Broadway was the first community to embrace us when we opened in May 2012 so we stick to those roots. Since our opening, we have donated thousands of cookies and dollars to local arts organizations and charitable groups.
Broadway Bakes, a fundraising program we created this spring to raise money for Broadway Cares/ Equity Fights AIDS, raised over $8000 for BC/EFA. Broadway stars worked behind our counter for a week and donated their time, tips, and memorabilia from their shows in support. We also donated half of proceeds from that time window to Broadway Cares. Broadway Bakes is an annual event-stay tuned for next year in May 2014!
